• Pentamaster Corporation (Pentamaster) expects sales for 1H17 to exceed that of 1H16. So far the group has secured about RM40 million worth of sales and was confident of achieving more than RM70 million of sales for 1H17.
  • The demand for testers should remain strong due to an increase in the number of new smart telecommunications products in the market. About half of the orders for 1H17 were for the smart device industry while the rest were from the automotive industry. The semiconductor test-equipment is expected to contribute about 60 percent of the group’s revenue.
  • This year Pentamaster will concentrate on expanding its intelligent automated robotic manufacturing line business (IARM). The IARM is growing due to the interest in Malaysia companies to replace workers where high-precision engineering and fabrication skills are involved.

Significance: Construction work for Pentamaster’s new RM25 million plant in Batu Kawan would begin in the second half of 2017, and the group plans to start operations to produce IARM line in mid-2018. IARM business is expected to contribute about 15 percent to the group’s revenue this year, as compared to around five percent previously.
