- SapuraKencana Petroleum announced that it has been awarded five contracts, four contracts under the engineering and construction segment and a contract in the drilling business, with a combined value worth around RM1.34 billion.
- The group’s subsidiaries SapuraKencana Subsea Services and SapuraKencana GeoSciences were each awarded a contract by Petronas Carigali, in which the scope of work include underwater services for a two-year period as well as provision of soil investigation services for a period of one year with an option to extend for another one year period.
- SapuraKencana TL Offshore was given a contract by Hyundai Heavy Industries to provide offshore installation work of CPP Jacket and bridge for Bardegg-2 and Baronia Enhanced Oil Recovery development project in East Malaysia. It also won a one-year contract from Repsoil Oil and Gas Malaysia to provide transportation and install pipeline, substructure and topside for Bunga Pakma Development Project.
- Lastly, SapuraKencana Drilling secured a contract by Brunei Shell Petroleum for the provision of its Tender Assist Drilling Rig SKD Alliance.
Significance: The contracts are expected to contribute positively towards SapuraKencana Petroleum’s earnings for the financial year ending 31 January 2017, and the respective period for contracts which extend beyond that financial year.
