- Taliworks Corporation’s (Taliworks) 4Q16 net profit slid 37.5 percent to RM32 million in the absence of a disposal gain and higher provision for discounting on deferred payments due from Splash. Revenue dropped 6.9 percent to RM69 million.
- The group declared a final dividend of RM0.02 per share for the quarter, bringing its total payout to RM0.08 for the full year.
- Full-year net profit climbed 47.3 percent to RM127.5 million, while revenue grew 4.4 percent to RM304.8 million.
- Taliworks expects the Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Works Phase I operation to continue to run its production above its designed capacity of 950 million litres per day, attributable to increasing demand for treated water in the Klang Valley.
Significance: Going forward, Taliworks will continue with its strategy to concentrate on mature operational cash-generating utilities and infrastructure businesses which could provide a recurring and stable source of cash flow to the group.
